Dr. Jessica Braun attended Texas A&M University where she studied Marine Biology, and she is a graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her many yearsof experience with small animals, exotics, and horses helps ensure your companion receives the best care available. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, and is active in wildlife rehabilitation as well as many rescue organizations.
Kim Geist, Assistant, grew up on a farm in Hays, KS and has always wanted and enjoyed working with animals. She is an active PETA member and her househould consists of one human child, 4 dogs, and 2 cats.
Kristine Buchholz, Charge Nurse, holds an Associates Degree in Applied Science from the Bel-Rae Animal Institute in Denver, CO. She cares for all of our hospitalized patients and is in charge of all anesthesia cases; and she treats all of our patients as though they were her own. She grew up in Wakeeney, and has always had a deep love for animals. Her household consists of 3 human children, 4 dogs, 3 cats, fish, and a turtle.
Sandy Kuhn, Receptionist, was born and raised in NW Kansas near Bird City. She has a background in human nursing, but has always had an interest in working with animals. Her household consists of a wiener dog name Lacie and a Chihuahua named Lil Missy.
Curt Braun, Lodge Manager, has worked at The Animal Health Center of Hays for 7 years and has been our lodge manager for the past year. His behind the scenes work keeps your companion happy and comfortable and ready to come back to stay with us again. He has 3 human children, 4 dogs, 4 cats, a horse, and multiple rodents. He and Dr. Braun have been married since 1999.
Chelsea Beilman, Receptionist, attended Fort Hays State University where she received an Associates Degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Psychology. She has a love and interest for all animals. She lives in Hays and her household consists of a Shih Tzu named Merlot, a Calico Millie, and a Sand Boa Remy.
